About the INFERNO 33
Also known as FINNGULF 33.
The Inferno 33 is a rare, lightweight fractional sloop designed by Håkan Södergren and built by NaBoats/Tabasco Marine (FIN) between 1984 and 1990. With only 25 hulls produced, this Finnish-built vessel offers a distinct alternative to more common production yachts of the late 1980s.
- Best for:
- This boat suits performance-oriented coastal cruisers and short-handed sailors who prioritize speed and agility over heavy displacement comfort. Its fractional rig and moderate displacement make it well-suited for active weekend cruising and racing.
- Bluewater capability:
- With a displacement of 9920.0 lb and a capsize ratio of 1.88, the Inferno 33 is primarily designed for coastal cruising rather than heavy offshore passage-making. Its fin keel and relatively light displacement suggest it is best suited for protected waters and short offshore passages.
- Comparables:
- Comparable boats include the Nauticat 33 and Beneteau First 33, which share similar fractional sloop rigs and performance-focused hull forms from the same era. These vessels offer similar sailing characteristics but with higher production volumes and different build origins.

Near-identical models — same hull, builder and designer, re-badged or lightly changed. Specs and owner-reported issues are typically shared across the group, so a sister model's page may carry detail this one doesn't.
