Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
SailPages (sailpages.com) is a sailboat research site. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect very little, we don't sell personal data, and we never see your payment details.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and our own aggregate event counters (page views, section engagement) to understand which content is useful. These do not use cross-site tracking cookies and are not tied to your identity.
- Purchases. Report payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number. Stripe shares with us only what is needed to deliver your purchase (e.g. that a checkout completed, and the email you provided at checkout, used for receipts and support).
- Functional cookies & local storage.A purchase sets a signed cookie in your browser so your report stays unlocked (30 days). Your "Compare" list is kept in your browser's local storage. Neither is used for tracking.
- Things you submit. Votes, engine reports, and price reports you choose to submit are stored as anonymous aggregate data.
Affiliate links
SailPages participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, the eBay Partner Network, and affiliate programs on the Impact network (e.g. Walmart). Outbound links to those marketplaces include our affiliate identifiers, and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. The Impact network loads an attribution script on our pages to credit those referrals; data it captures is governed by Impact's privacy policy and may be shared with the merchant. Marketplace sites set their own cookies under their own policies once you land there.
What we don't do
- No selling or renting of personal information.
- No advertising trackers or cross-site profiling.
- No storing of payment card details — that stays with Stripe.
Data retention & your rights
Purchase records are retained as required for accounting and support. If you are in the EU/EEA or a jurisdiction with data-access rights, you can request a copy or deletion of any personal data we hold (in practice: your checkout email and purchase record) by contacting us.
