About the NANTUCKET 33
Prototype was 'HOTFOOT', a successful (CCA) racer at the time and winner of class C in 1968-69 SORC. It was built of wood veneers. Sister ships were also built of wood, Aluminum or molded FG. (A write up was featured in 'Boating' magazine, July 1968.)
The Nantucket 33 is a rare, heavy-displacement cruising sloop designed by Alan Gurney and built by various builders, with only 8 hulls constructed in 1967. Its substantial 10000.0 lb displacement and 4200.0 lb ballast reflect a design philosophy prioritizing stability and seakeeping over speed.
