About the LIBERTY 49
An extended and enlarged version of the earlier LIBERTY 458 which, in turn, is thought to have shared origins with the PETERSON 44.
Designed by Stan Huntingford and built by Shin Fa/Liberty Yachts in Taiwan, the Liberty 49 is a rare, heavy-displacement cutter with only 13 hulls constructed between 1985 and 1989. Its substantial 38000.0 lb displacement and 14.0 ft beam define it as a serious, motion-comfortable offshore cruiser rather than a performance racer.
