About the FLYING DUTCHMAN 12
The FD 12 (or FLYING DUTCHMAN 12) was imported into the USA by Willem Eickholt and Associates. some 25 FD-12s were built by the Ta Yang (Tayana) yard in Taiwan from the mid 70's to mid 80's.
The Flying Dutchman 12 is a rare, heavy-displacement cutter designed by Eva Hollman and built by Ta Yang in Taiwan between 1973 and 1985, with only 23 hulls produced. Its substantial displacement of 35175.0 lb and high comfort ratio of 35.51 indicate a vessel designed for stability and seakworthiness rather than speed.
