Sailpages Buyer's Take

The CT-47 is a robust 46.92 ft cutter designed by Kauffman & Ladd and built by Ta Chaio Shipbuilding Co. in Taiwan. With a production run of 80 hulls completed in 1981, this vessel represents a specific era of offshore-oriented design.

Best for:
This boat is best suited for experienced coastal cruisers and bluewater passagemakers who prioritize heavy displacement comfort and stability over high-speed performance.
Bluewater capability:
With a displacement of 29395.0 lb and a capsize ratio of 1.71, the CT-47 exhibits strong offshore stability and seakeeping abilities suitable for extended bluewater passages.
Comparables:
Comparable vessels include the Cal 40 and O'Day 38 from the same era, as they share similar displacement characteristics and cruising-oriented layouts, though the CT-47's cutter rig offers distinct reefing advantages.
