About the CREALOCK 37 (PACIFIC SEACRAFT)
The Pacific Seacraft 37 was designed as the CLIPPER MARINE 37. But the company failed before any were built. It was first built in 1978 by Cruising Consultants Inc. of Newport Beach, CA, as the CREALOCK 37. Later (1980) built by Pacific Seacraft as PACIFIC SEACRAFT 37. Available as sloop, yawl or cutter. Reported SA: Cutter - 708 sqft Yawl - 619 sqft
Designed by William Crealock and built by Cruising Consultants, Inc. / Pacific Seacraft, the Crealock 37 (Pacific Seacraft) was produced in 1979. This heavy-displacement, fin-keel sloop is renowned for its robust construction and offshore pedigree, though the fleet's age necessitates rigorous structural inspection.
- Best for:
- This boat is ideal for serious bluewater cruisers and those prioritizing safety and comfort over speed, particularly those willing to undertake significant maintenance on aging fiberglass structures.
- Bluewater capability:
- With a displacement of 16000.0 lb, a capsize ratio of 1.72, and a comfort ratio of 33.99, the boat is exceptionally stable and well-suited for offshore passages, provided critical structural integrity is maintained.
- Comparables:
- Comparable to the Pacific Seacraft 31 and 34, as well as the Hallberg-Rassy 35, due to similar heavy displacement, full keel or large fin designs, and a focus on long-range cruising capability.
