About the CONRAD 760
AKA CONRAD 25. The Conrad 760 (7.6 meters) was designed by Peterson (Design #73) for Navimor in Poland. There were at least 3 decks and two rigs available. (Not a 'splashed' copy of another boat as some have claimed.) They are sailed, raced and seen most often in Eastern Europe and especially Russia. Dimension shown here are only approximate. It is said that more than 300 may have been built. Similar boat built in Estonia, Russia (CT-25), Germany (BARON 76, RACE 77).
The Conrad 760 is a 25.0 ft fractional sloop designed by Doug Peterson and built by Navimor/Conrad (POL) between 1980 and 1992. With a displacement of 4600.0 lb and a comfort ratio of 18.33, it is a lightweight, performance-oriented cruiser that prioritizes speed over heavy offshore stability.
- Best for:
- This boat suits coastal cruisers and weekend racers who value easy handling and good upwind performance, as evidenced by the high prevalence of Yamaha outboard engines and performance sailmakers like North Sails.
- Bluewater capability:
- With a low D/L ratio of 244.4 and a capsize ratio of 2.1, the Conrad 760 is best suited for protected coastal waters rather than extended bluewater passages, where its light displacement may feel tender in heavy seas.
- Comparables:
- Comparable boats include the Catalina 25 and O'Day 25, which share similar dimensions and eras, but the Conrad distinguishes itself with a lighter displacement and a more modern fractional rig configuration.
