About the COMMANDER 26 (PEARSON)
Same hull as Pearson ARIEL but with a longer cockpit and shorter coachroof. The designer (Carl Alberg) owned a COMMANDER himself, in his later years. The standard boat has an outboard well but an Atomic 4 inboard was available as an option.
Designed by Carl Alberg and built by Pearson Yachts (USA) from 1964–1967, the Commander 26 is a classic 26-foot sloop with a production run of 310 hulls. This Alberg design is renowned for its robust construction and balanced performance, representing a significant era in American yacht building.
