First introduced as a racer with trim tab (as shown here). Later boats were turned out with more cruising amenities. Some were even rigged as schooners. An unknown number were sold as the SAILCRAFTER 57. The COLUMBIA 56 (Motor sailor), introduced in 1974, came from this same hull mold.

Designed by William Tripp Jr. and built by Columbia Yachts (USA) between 1969 and 1974, the Columbia 57 is a rare and substantial cruising yacht with only 11 hulls produced.
