Built at Beneteau's custom yard with the most advanced materials and techniques of the day. Also called FIRST 40 EVOLUTION. (30.5' IOR as of 1983). A later production version, was the FIRST CLASS 12.

Designed by Jean Beret, J. Fauroux, and Group Finot, the Beneteau 1 Ton is a rare fractional sloop built by Beneteau in France between 1983 and 1985, with a total production of only 12 hulls. This limited run resulted in a unique, heavy-displacement cruiser that stands apart from the builder's more common volume-produced models.
