About the YORKSHIRE ONE-DESIGN
One of the oldest one-design classes in Britain that is still sailing. (Though less than ten still exist at last report.) Created in association with the Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club though the earliest owners were not all members. The first 6 boats were delivered in 1898. About 10 more have been built since with the last in 1951. Bermudian sloop rig replaced the original gaff head sloop rig in 1974. (Spinnaker permitted) Dimensions from various sources and are not consistent.
