The orginal design commission and order for the MARINER 39 came from the Moorings Co., and many of the boats were first used in the charter trade (The Moorings). A few were rigged as cutters or ketches.

Designed by Eric White & Arthur Berry and built by Mariner Yacht Company (USA) from 1980–1982, the Mariner 39 is a rare vessel with only 29 hulls produced.
