Sailpages Buyer's Take

The Marina is a 22.9 ft masthead sloop designed by Günter Thomat and built by Marina-Werft (GER) from 1968–1980. With a displacement of 2756.0 lb and a comfort ratio of 14.06, it represents a lightweight, performance-oriented cruiser from the late 1960s and 1970s.

Best for:
This boat suits coastal cruisers and weekend sailors who prioritize ease of handling and speed over heavy offshore protection. Its light displacement and fin keel make it ideal for active sailors in protected waters.
Bluewater capability:
With a capsize ratio of 2.08 and a relatively light displacement of 2756.0 lb, the Marina is best suited for coastal cruising rather than extended bluewater passages.
Comparables:
Comparable boats include other lightweight European designs from the 1970s such as the O'Day 22 or Catalina 22, which share similar dimensions and a focus on recreational sailing. These boats are comparable due to their similar LOA, beam, and role as accessible entry-level cruisers.
