Sailpages Buyer's Take

The Marieholm MS-20 is a compact fractional sloop designed by Olle Enderlein and built by Marieholms Bruk in Sweden. With 750 hulls built in 1971, this model represents a specific snapshot of Scandinavian small-craft production from that era.

Best for:
This boat suits coastal cruisers and weekend sailors seeking a lightweight, easy-to-handle package with a shallow 2.95 ft draft. Its small size and fractional rig make it manageable for single-handers or couples looking for a low-maintenance daysailer or short-cruiser.
Bluewater capability:
With a low displacement of 2756.0 lb and a capsize ratio of 2.06, the MS-20 is not designed for serious bluewater passage-making. Its light weight and small size limit its offshore suitability to protected coastal waters and short hops.
Comparables:
Comparable boats include other small Scandinavian fractional sloops from the early 1970s, such as the Sun Odyssey 21 or similar 19-20 ft designs. They are comparable due to their similar LOA of 19.68 ft, fractional rigs, and focus on ease of handling over heavy offshore performance.
