About the MAÏCA
First boat, 'Maica', was commissioned by French yachtsman Henri Rouault and based a earlier Illingworth design, 'Belmore'. Built at Burnes of Bosham(UK)1960. At least 30 built by CMN of Cherbourg, FRA. Cold molded counter stern version introduced in 1962. LOA for counter stern: 11.06m/36.29' A further modified version was later built in Italy of fiberglass.
The Maïca is a rare, historic vessel designed by Illingworth & Primrose and built by Cnstr. Mécaniques de Normandie (FRA) in 1960. With a hull count of ?, this single-year production run represents a unique snapshot of early 1960s French boatbuilding.
