About the LEADERSHIP 44 (USCG)

Built primarily for use at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and replacements for the Luders 44 yawls, originally built for the U.S .Naval Academy in the 1960's. It is thought that this is an updated version of the NA 44 of the 1980's. (McCurdy & Rhodes) Also referred to as DEFIANCE class.

Designed by David Pedrick and built by Morris Yachts, the Leadership 44 (USCG) is a rare, heavy-displacement cruiser with only 8 hulls constructed in 2005. Its substantial 26000.0 lb displacement and 9999.6 lb ballast reflect a robust, motion-comfortable design intended for serious offshore use.
