14 INTERNATIONAL 500s built by DeDood were delivered to various yacht brokers and shipyards along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Later, some were built of Fiberglass.
The International 500 is a rare, heavy-displacement cruising sloop designed by Robert G. Henry Jr. and built by DeDood and Sohn Yacht und Boatwerks (GER) in 1960, with only 14 hulls constructed. Its substantial 11200.0 lb displacement and 385.27 D/L ratio reflect a design prioritizing stability and seakeeping over speed.
