About the IDEM
Probably the oldest US one-design class that is still sailed. (St. Regis Lake in the Adirondacks). (2010) Thanks to Sandy Trevor, Commodore of St. Regis YC, for providing updated photo and information on this yacht. "Of the 12 built originally, one is in the Adirondack Museum, and the other 11 are still in sailing condition on St Regis Lake. In 2004 a 13th Idem was built, meticulously following the original Clinton Crane plans and using identical materials." Known Issues & Pre-Purchase Inspection
We don't have enough data on the IDEMyet to publish model-specific findings we'd stand behind — but here's a free general inspection checklist, built from our research into what actually goes wrong on boats of this kind.
Drawn from 7,029 documented issues across 2,391 models, ordered so the areas that most often turn up problems come first.
Own a IDEM? Reports from owners are what turn this into a model-specific checklist — and they're the reason the boats above it have one.
