About the HERITAGE 20
Howie Craft Plastics was founded by Howard Renner and located at Lake Oswego, Oregon. It was primarily a one man operation.
Designed by Andrew Davidhazy and built by Howie Craft Plastics (USA) from 1967–1971, the Heritage 20 is a rare micro-cruiser with only 12 hulls built. Its scarcity and specific production window make it a unique collector's item rather than a mass-market vessel.
- Best for:
- This boat suits coastal cruisers and trailerable boat owners seeking a compact, full-keel design that is easy to transport and dock. Its small footprint makes it ideal for those with limited storage space who still desire a traditional sailing experience.
- Bluewater capability:
- With a displacement of 3300.0 lb and a capsize ratio of 1.75, the Heritage 20 is primarily suited for protected coastal waters rather than extended offshore passages.
- Comparables:
- Comparable boats include the O'Day 20 and Pearson 20, which share similar dimensions and eras. These vessels are comparable due to their shared role as entry-level, trailerable cruisers with full keels designed for stability and ease of handling.
