About the GRANADA 24
Diesel inboard available as an option.
Designed by Jørn Hansen and built by Granada Yachts A/S (DEN) from 1974–1977, the Granada 24 is a compact masthead sloop with 200 hulls produced. Its lightweight displacement of 3968.0 lb and fin keel configuration reflect a design philosophy focused on agility and ease of handling rather than heavy offshore stability.
- Best for:
- This boat is best suited for coastal cruisers and weekend sailors who prioritize easy single-handed handling and trailerability over heavy-weather endurance. Its manageable size and light displacement make it ideal for those with limited storage space or who prefer active, responsive sailing.
- Bluewater capability:
- With a low displacement of 3968.0 lb and a capsize ratio of 2.09, the Granada 24 is not recommended for extended bluewater passages due to its light weight and lack of heavy ballast for offshore stability.
- Comparables:
- Comparable boats include the O'Day 23 and Pearson 23, which share similar dimensions and target the same market of entry-level coastal cruisers. These vessels are comparable due to their similar beam, draft, and role as accessible, trailerable daysailers from the mid-1970s.
