About the GLOUCESTER 16
Originally the NEWPORT 16.(1965) A fixed keel version was also available with a draft of 2.5'.
Designed by C. William Lapworth and built by Gloucester Yachts Inc. (USA), the Gloucester 16 is a compact fractional sloop with 1300 hulls built between 1986 and 1989. Its lightweight 900.0 lb displacement and 6.25 ft beam define a performance-oriented package that prioritizes agility over heavy cruising comfort.
