The Friendship 33 is a fractional sloop designed by E.G. Van de Stadt and built by Meyer Werft (NED) from 1985–1995. With a displacement of 9480.0 lb and a comfort ratio of 21.92, this vessel offers a balanced blend of performance and stability for its era.
- Best for:
- This boat suits coastal cruisers and weekend sailors who prioritize a manageable fractional sloop rig and a comfortable motion, as indicated by its moderate comfort ratio.
- Bluewater capability:
- With a capsize ratio of 2.05 and a displacement of 9480.0 lb, the Friendship 33 is generally considered suitable for coastal and nearshore cruising rather than heavy offshore bluewater passage-making.
- Comparables:
- Comparable vessels include other 1980s European fractional sloops with similar displacement and beam, such as the Beneteau First 33 or O'Day 32, which share similar performance characteristics and target markets.
