About the EDEL 5 (540/545)

Called the EDEL 545 in France. Edel's were manfactured in Canada and France between '78 and '82 by the French parent firm, and its Canadian subsidiary. Sometime later, the Canadian molds were bought by Stanley Hatch Industries which built a few more before closing in the late '80's. In France, three version were available, Standard, Dayboat, and GTE.

Designed by Maurice Edel and built by Edel in France and Canada between 1974 and 1983, the Edel 5 (540/545) is a compact fractional sloop with a production run of 2500 hulls. With a displacement of 1711.0 lb and a max draft of 2.29 ft, this 17.71 ft LOA vessel is characterized by its lightweight construction and shallow draft, making it highly portable and trailerable.
