Sailpages Buyer's Take

The Conway 36 is a robust cruising sloop designed by Laurent Giles and built by Westerly Marine Ltd. (UK) between 1975 and 1982. With a displacement of 16128.0 lb and a comfort ratio of 31.48, this vessel is characterized by its heavy, stable hull form and traditional British engineering.

Best for:
This boat is ideally suited for coastal and offshore cruisers who prioritize seakeeping and comfort over raw speed, making it a strong candidate for couples or families seeking a safe, motion-dampened passage-making experience.
Bluewater capability:
With a displacement of 16128.0 lb, a capsize ratio of 1.77, and a fin keel, the Conway 36 is well-regarded for bluewater cruising due to its exceptional stability and proven offshore pedigree.
Comparables:
Comparable vessels include the Hallberg-Rassy 36 and the Hallberg-Rassy 362, as they share similar heavy-displacement characteristics and offshore cruising credentials from the same era.
