About the CATANA 40
The first catamaran built by Catana. Two versions were built: 1984-1988 - 40c, 11 built. 1989-1992 - 40s, 5 built (The 40s had a narrower beam). Specs above are for the 40c. Designed by Lock Crowther and built by Catana (FRA) from 1984–1992, the Catana 40 is a rare production catamaran with only 16 hulls built. Its lightweight displacement of 12320.0 lb and high SA/D ratio of 28.5 reflect a design prioritizing speed and performance over heavy cruising comfort.
