Designed by C. William Lapworth and built by Jensen Marine (USA) from 1968–1972, the CAL 2-30 is a classic fractional sloop with 204 hulls produced. It is a heavy-displacement cruiser with a D/L ratio of 294.29 and a comfort ratio of 32.1, known for its solid construction but prone to specific age-related structural issues.

Best for:

This boat suits coastal cruisers and those seeking a traditional, heavy-displacement sailing experience, particularly owners willing to manage maintenance on older fiberglass construction. It is less ideal for performance-focused sailors due to its moderate SA/D ratio of 15.74.
