Only 6 built under this name. The design derived from the wooden OWENS CUTTER. Originally built by the Allen Boat Co. of Buffalo NY. The molds were later sold to Allied Boat Co. where, with some modifications, it became the ALLIED 39.
The Borsaw 40 is a rare, heavy-displacement cruising sloop designed by Owens and built by Allen Boat Co. in the USA. With only 6 hulls constructed in 1968, this vessel represents a unique, low-production entry in the classic American sailboat market.
