About the BAHAMA 24 (ISLANDER)
Similar to the standard ISLANDER 24 but with a flush/raised deck. Evidently, the plug had "v" planking which gave the boat the look of a wooden boat which became an early Islander trademark. The Bahama proved to be far more popular so that production of the trunk cabin version was soon discontinued.
Designed by J. H. McGlasson and built by Islander Yachts/McGlasson Marine (USA) from 1964–1970, the Bahama 24 (Islander) is a classic 24-foot sloop with 500 hulls produced. Its full keel design and 4200.0 lb displacement provide a stable, comfortable platform that remains popular for coastal cruising and liveaboard use.
