About the AURORA 21

The AURORA 21 has the same hull as the VICTORY 21 but with a larger cabin. Both were first manufactured by Henry R. McCune in 1959. The operation was sold to Wesco Marine (founded by Frank Butler who later founded Catalina Yachts). Wesco began their production in 1964. By 1969 the boats were being built under the name of Coronado Yachts as a division of the Whittaker Corporation.

Designed by Ted Carpentier and built by Henry McCune/Wesco Marine/Coronado Yachts, the Aurora 21 is a compact masthead sloop produced from 1959–1970 with a total of 600 hulls built. Its lightweight displacement of 1700.0 lb and fin keel configuration reflect its origins as a performance-oriented daysailer and coastal cruiser rather than a heavy offshore vessel.
