The ALOHA 8.5 is an updated version of the ALOHA 28, introduced in 1983. The main difference between the 2 boats is the installation of 5 opening port lights down each side of the vessel, and the addition of more brightwork, including a trim piece running horizontally above the port lights. Designed by Ted Brewer and Robert Walstrom, the Aloha 8.5 was built by Ouyang Boat Works in Canada between 1983 and 1988. This 28.0 ft masthead sloop offers a robust cruising platform with a displacement of 6750.0 lb and a beam of 9.42 ft, though the exact number of hulls built remains unconfirmed in available records.
